The historic house, Douma State, is situated on a waterway in the Frisian seaside village of Harlingen. It was built in 1913 for the then current Mayor of Harlingen, Mr. Hannema, a prosperous local business man.

Conveniently situated on the famous 'Elfstedentocht' route, Douma State is a small and hospitable B&B offering overnight accommodation in a quiet, secluded part of town. However, it is in easy walking distance (5 mins.) from the picturesque city centre, the station, the harbour and the ferries. From the harbour you can take a trip and visit the world heritage islands 'de Waddeneneilanden' and hopefully see seals on the way.

The largest double bedroom has a very large private balcony with a view over the garden.  The second large room has a wonderful scenic view along the canal Douma State is situated on.
